*HOW MY NATiON iS iNVOLVED iN WAR WORLD 1.* My name is De'Andre Smith. I came from Russia. In high school Great Britain and Germany were arguing whether who had the most powerful weapons, which is Militarism. Germany and France almost came to war over the nation of Morocco. I got drafted in the war when i was 17, and the reason our nation is in the war is because, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, and Germany had already agreed to help Austria-Hungary. Serbia asked Russia to be their aide for the war, because Russia was the mothergod of the serbs. Russia agreed to help aide Serbia, but Russia also asked France to aide them.
*ABOUT THE ASSASSiNATiON OF THE ARCHDUKE.* Today, the Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary was assassinated. They were going to Sarajevo. The Serbians were really angry about them visiting Sarajevo, because Sarajevo was under the rule of Austria-Hungary. The terrorist group Black Hand killed the Archduke and wife. This is why the war between nations started.
*MY BATTLE PLAN.* The plan my nation is going to use is called the Schlieffen Plan. The Schlieffen Plan is where Germany didn't think Russia would mobilize fast enough, so they went through Belgium into France, and Great Britain declared war on Germany because Great Britain covered for Belgium. Overall, this plan had failed. Then my army, and I had to stay in trenches for days with our machine guns, and tanks. While in the trenches we were deciding on what we were going to do next. We had finally figured out what to do, one day my men, and myself had raised out of the trenches,and just started shooting at the enemies. This plan worked, and we had killed alot of our enemies. This was a much better plan than the Schlieffen Plan.
*MY PROPAGANDA PiCTURE.* This picture is telling how the U.S. is going to win the war. Some of the propaganda techniques used are, patriotic appeals- using partiotic language or symbols to appeal to national pride, in this case that would be the American flag. Another technique used is catchy slogans- using memorable phrases to motivate citizens to take action. In this picture the catchy slogan would be, "UNITED we are strong, UNITED we will win." The last technique used is emotional symbols- using images/symbols that appeal to people's emotions, and in this picture this is another technique talking about the flag.
*RUSSiA'S OUT & USA'S ENTRY iNTO THE WAR.* Russia had bread riots going on back at home when they were in the war. When V.I Lenin came to power, he promised to take the Russian's out of the war. Lenin signed a treaty called, the Treaty Of Brest-Litovsk, with Germany which ended Russia's chances in the war. Now, with Russia out of the way the Germans could concentrate on the Western Front. All of this affected my nation's chance of winning, because my nation got kicked out of the war, so we can't even get a chance to win since Lenin decided to sign a treaty with Germany and get us out of the war.
*CHRiSTMAS.*
Now, that my nation is out of the war, we get no letters from home, no gifts from friends, but my troops and I had heard about other nation's getting letters from home saying how much they were missed, and wishing them luck. We also saw the gifts that Germany got from their friends, and famiy, and just generous people from all around the world. It was sad, but nice to see the other nation's gettting gifts, and letters on Christmas. It made me feel like my family or friends didn't miss me, but I figured my troops should have a Christmas too, so we sang Christmas carols, and laughed all night long.
*THE TREATY OF VERSAiLLES.* The Treaty Of Versailles, was the treaty that ended the war. The Germans were forced by the Allies to sign this treaty. In the treaty, it had forced Germany to take blame for causing the war, forced Germany to pay for the war damages that had cost over $30 billion, the treaty limited the size of the German's military, it returned Alsace and Lorraine to France, the treaty had also stripped Germany of its overseas colonies. Germans had no choice but to sign this treaty, but German resentment of the Treaty Of Versailles would poison the international climate, and help start an even deadlier war.
